Project Life 2013 - Weeks 3 and 4

Thursday, January 31, 2013

Weeks 3 and 4.  This was really the first test for me as weeks 1 and 2 involved holiday photos.  While I've decided to continue one page per week, I still want both pages to look visually in harmony.  Couple this with my desire maintain simplicity (both in visual look and putting together), I found I had to spend a lot of time thinking and planning before doing.  I actually enjoy this process.... may be something to do with my personality type!

Week 1 - I decided to include week numbers from now.  I get confused looking back on this so it's to help me as much as anything, but does add another digital element. I used Paislee Press for my week summary and Seafoam for other journaling.  I am using downloads from A C Digitals.  That was I can adjust and print with square edges (another 2013 decision), and add my text before printing. Easy peasy once you establish a system.
Week 2: More Paislee Press, including a recent purchase of this one which says "you are loved".  Shelby our Border Collie has featured a lot this fortnight as each day incorporates walks with her. We are lucky to live very close to the beach.
 The fortnight overall look.
I used a Roald Dahl quote on the photo "those who don't believe in magic will never find it".  Both Anna and I love that one.  The bottom quote is lyrics from a Pink Floyd song which Nicholas and I love and I find quite relevant at the moment!  I used 2 Seafoam card elements placed over each other to achieve the yellow border I wanted.

Seafoam journaling cards for Currently reading and an interesting little exercise my son encouraged us to do - an online personality type test.  I've done this before for work so no surprises there for me, however we all turned out quite different... could explain some interesting differences of opinion etc that we all have!  Life in a house with teens is interesting!

On to Week 5.  My kids are back to school after summer holidays here.

Thanks for stopping by.

Project Life 2013 Weeks 1 and 2

Monday, January 21, 2013

And so begins Project Life for 2013!  I can't tell you how much I love doing this.  One thing I do know is I hate getting behind.  I still have some journaling to add to 2012 and I'm going to have to make myself do it!  I prefer working on the NOW, so my mission is to always stay on top of this.
As I've already mentioned, I'm doing Ali Edward's One Little Word class this year and my word is simplicity. More on that later, but for January, my focus is on simplicity in my memory keeping/project life...hence my simple cover page.  I know this will not make any sense to traditional scrapbookers, but my love is/has always really been on a more editorial/photobook look.
I
I'm using some digital downloads of Seafoam along with my Paislee Press digital purchases.  Yoy can imagine my excitement when I found out Liz from Paislee Press has designed Midnight.  I can't wait to add that when it comes out.
 Week 1
I'm continuing 1 page per week.  As we went away the second week I've added 2 6x12 inserts.
Week 2 right side and inserts
6x12 insert and a 6x12 Design H on the right.

Added my cousins business card to the right page.  She is a very talented artist.  See her work here. The details on the back show through in Week 3 spread.
Also added a map to a Paislee Press card as one of my kids wasn't sure where we were!
For those outside NZ, it's mid summer here.  We were staying at Pauanui, a beautiful beach location in the Coromandel.  So many happy memories!

Project Life Christmas pages #2

Saturday, January 19, 2013

Here's the first couple of pages of my Christmas inserts.
As usual my formula is simplistic design.  I used elements from Design Editor mostly, along with some Paislee Press.

Got my end of 2012 and 2013 photos yesterday, so everything was abandoned while I sorted them into the albums.  Happy day!  Just some journaling to finish and I'll share my 2013 pages.
Back soon.  TFL.
